Slice of pie

Serves 4 adults




2st turmeric

1 tsp ground coriander

1 tsp ground cumin

½ tsp ginger

1 tsp garlic powder

2 tsp gram masala

60ml vegetable oil

20ml milk or dairy free substitute



2 onions

1 tin of coconut milk (or cream/substitute)

½ bunch of fresh coriander


Suggested Fillings

chicken pieces

white fish

sweet potato










Add all spices to a pan with the oil and heat slowly

Continually stir the mixture

Remove from heat just before the spices start to smoke, roughly 4 minutes

Add the milk and mix to a paste




Dice the onions and cook until soft

Add to this meat or vegetables of your choice and brown off for 10 minutes.

Add ½ the paste and the coconut milk or substitute

Simmer for 15 minutes 

Roughly chop the coriander leaves and stir in and serve.


To make the curry stronger add more paste to the cooking process, cover the remaining paste and store in the fridge for up to 2 weeks.
